Intervarsity Dance Competition 2026
Melbourne University Dancesport Club and Monash Dance Society invite you to our annual Intervarsity Dance Competition!

What is Intervarsity?
Each year, MUDC joins the Intervarsity dancesport competition with Monash Dance Society. It emphasises participation and offers a range of styles and levels, so whether you're new or seasoned, there's a place for you to compete and have fun.
How does it work?
Standard Format: Competitors will dance in pairs against others to an undisclosed music of the relevant genre, for 90 seconds per round.
Jack & Jill (J&J) Format: J&J events test participants' skills in leading and following in an improvisational social dance setting. All participants still dance at the same time, but will dance with someone randomly selected for 45 seconds before swapping partners.
Adjudicators will judge the competitors individually (as leads/follows) based on technique, timing, musicality and difficulty, but also the 'x-factor' of the dancer.
