 MUDC presents our first 2013 social, an outdoor midsummer night's dance!
(well technically we're now in autumn but it sure feels like summer :P ) This coming Friday we'll be dancing Salsa and Street Latin : - 1hr lesson included - social dancing til late $7 for members, $10 for non members Finger food and drinks provided You don't have to bring a partner - just come as you are! If you are a beginner this is the perfect opp to practice the basics! The more the merrier : drag you friends along :) Argyle Square is a wonderful outdoor space just off Lygon Street, Carlton (2 blocks fr Unimelb) : so come along for a chilled out summer night's dance under the stars ... you might also like to peruse Lygon for gelati in between dancing :p What to bring : - Your waterbottle to keep hydrated, there are fountains at the square - advisable : deodorant & fresh breath/mints (highly suggested, take a shower before) - the Argyle Sq stage is smooth polished concrete so its kind to your suede dance shoes, but also feel free to bring comfy street dance shoes if you would like to also dance around the piazza ~o~

 Our dance camp is coming soon and you will not want to miss it. Collaborating with the Monash DanceSport, we're back again at the Don Bosco Camp, Safety Beach to enjoy 3 days full of dancing madness. This is surely not an event to be missed!
Early Bird lasts until 11th March, so make sure you grab 'em fast. There are also Day Pass Tickets for you who cannot make it for the whole weekend. But sweat not, your Day Pass Ticket already includes your lunch and the whole dance lessons on Saturday 22nd March. Full payment and form due no later than Friday 15th March! Melbourne University Dancesport Club's avenue for talented and dedicated student dancers to show off their skills and effort. Guest performances will also be making an appearance to further enrich the experience. The showcase will feature several dance styles from timeless and elegant ballroom to tantalising Argentine Tango. It will be a visually captivating event bound to get you wishing you were there on the floor. Refreshments will be served during intermission and audience members will be encouraged to groove along to some beats and take part in the night. At the end of the night an open dance floor is left for anyone with feet just itching to dance. The club would not be around without these dancers and vice versa. So show some support for your friends and the club. By attending you are giving these wonderful dancers the motivation to continue dancing and progressing creatively. Tickets can be purchased on the spot or earlier from classes. Performers get free entry. For more information, don't hesitate to ask the committee or send us an email.  This year our Dinner Dance will have a TITANIC THEME. I am already excited and hunting for the perfect dress! Make an effort to dress in theme, our committee will take up two tables and be assured, we will be in theme for sure! It will be at Leonda by the Yarra, on Thursday 27th September commencing at 7pm. It's a great to dance, have fun, meet new people and mostly, an excuse to dress up in Titanic theme. You don't come across this opportunity every day (or night). While you eat, with our finest 3 course meal, we feature YOU dance performances by our amazing fantastic dancers, progressive and not to mention social dancing, dance demo, medal presentations and many more! So tell your friends, raid the op-shops and make it a night to remember by coming to our annual Dinner Dance! Getting to the details of the event, as usual, we will have an hour of instructed dancing from 7 pm-8 pm and the dance floor will be open for social dancing from 8-9 pm. We will have finger food provided as well as drinks. Our prices are $7 for members and $10 for non-members and you can purchase your tickets at the door. We will be located in the Lazer Room of the Sports Centre. If you're entering from the entrance on Tin Alley turn right near the reception desk when you enter the Sports Centre. The name of the room is also written on the wall. You do not need any dancing background for this social so feel free come with a friend or by yourself because you will be meeting a number of people on the night. Hoping to see you all there, and once again, welcome back to semester 2! Happy dancing
