Welcome!

Whether you’re a beginner or advanced dancer, Melbourne University Dance Sport Club’s (MUDC) annual dance camp is sure to interest you! In collaboration with Monash Dance Sport (MDS), the camp features orientation games, social dancing, different dance style classes taught by friendly and qualified teachers, and a campfire!

During your free time, you may enjoy exploring the beach, and attempt the Fitness Obstacle Course. Take advantage of the many recreational facilities available, including an Indoor Basketball court, Table Tennis, Billiards, Air Hockey and more!

So what are you waiting for? Come along, make new friends and enjoy dancing with fellow dance enthusiasts! Limited places are available and are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis! There are 50 places available to each club for the full weekend (Friday night to Sunday morning), and a small number of day passes which cover the four and a half hours of dancing lessons plus lunch on the Saturday.  Both club members and non-members are welcome.

Head down to the Dance Studio to submit your application form together with the payment as soon as possible!

Travel:

For dancers staying the full weekend, carpooling may be arranged where possible. If there are not enough drivers, some people will need to take the train to Frankston (~30 mins drive from the camp) and then catch a 788 bus towards Portsea, and alight at Safety Beach (alternatively, you may be picked up by one of the committee drivers. We ask that all passengers reimburse their driver for petrol costs).

Dancers coming for the day will need to arrange their own transport to and from the camp. We will mail out a list of the people coming for the day and their contact details, should you wish to arrange your own car pool.

MUDC is offering one week of free dance classes! Come join the fun, make new friends and learn different dances. Also, you can even progress to an accredited level in a span of one semester or one year!

The dances available range from different levels and there is a huge number of different dance styles to choose from. This semester we're offering Hip Hop and K-Pop classes.

Discounted membership fee for O-week: $10 for both return member and new member. Please bring your card if you want to renew your membership. From week 1 onward it's $12 for returning member and $15 for new member.

Melbourne University Dancesport Club's avenue for talented and dedicated student dancers to show off their skills and effort. Guest performers will also be making an appearence to further enrich the experience. The showcase will feature several dance styles from timeless and elegant ballroom to tantalising Argentine Tango. It will be a visually captivating event bound to get you wishing you were there on the floor.


The club would not be around without these dancers and vice versa. So show some support for your friends and the club. By attending you are giving these wonderful dancers the motivation to continue dancing and progressing creatively.

Moulin Rouge tells the story of a young, English poet/writer, Christian, who falls in love with the terminally-ill star of the Moulin Rouge, cabaret actress and courtesan Satine; Inspired, MUDC will be bringing this musical setting from Paris right here to Melbourne in San Remo Ballroom for our Dinner Dance Ball to relive this story.

While you eat, with... our finest 3 course meal, we feature YOU dance performances by our amazing fantastic dancers, progressive and not to mention social dancing, games, lucky draws, dance demo, medal presentations and best dressed winner award!

What is a dance social?
Our dance social focuses on socializing from the aspects of dancing. We have music, finger food and most of all dance! A definite way to get to know more people.

No dancing experience?
No worries! We have hired a Professionally Certified Hot Spicy Latin Instructor to come and teach so you'll be shaking your bootay in no time!

No Partner?
Social dances can be danced with a variety of partners and still be lead and followed in a relaxed, easy atmosphere, so there is no trouble there as well :)

There is a saying that fortune favours the brave and it indeed takes a lot of courage for MUDC members to perform amongst professionals and strangers. Our annual showcase will include a variety of dance styles such as street latin, salsa, waltz and swing. 

Many of us can dance, (but only in the comfort of our homes, or when we go clubbing) but the MUDC Showcase will exhibit talent, dedication and amazing moves that will inspire you or encourage some of our hidden talents to put on their dancing shoes!

Ready to Salsa..? 

It's the long awaited return of Salsa nights AND WE'VE MADE CHANGES. Due to the the oncoming winter we've moved our venue, somewhere even hotter if you will. Come over to the Union House this Friday for another night of tantalising dancing. A short class will run from 7.30-8.30 for those of you who want to pick on a few more sultry salsa steps. Then it's time to burn up that dance floor with some salsa! 

Join us for some really red hot salsa nights! We have salsa social dancing and have hired a professionally certified salsa instructor to come teach as well so dancers of all levels and experiences are all welcomed!

No Partner?.... Our Salsa Nights can be danced with a variety of partners and still be lead and followed in a relaxed, easy atmosphere, so there is no trouble there as well :)
